Hide your fleet. Hunt theirs. Last ship afloat wins.
Campaign
Two players share this device. You each hide your fleet while the other looks away, then pass it back and forth to take turns.
Put Battleship on your home screen, so it opens like an app. Then the campaign, quick battles and pass & play work even without the internet.
“Direct hit!”, “You sank their battleship!” — and the campaign admirals talk back.
Fast plays splashes and explosions quicker, and the computer thinks faster.
You and your opponent each hide a fleet of ships on a grid (10×10 in the classic game). Take turns firing at squares on the other player’s grid. Sink every enemy ship before they sink yours.
Bigger fleets add a Frigate (3), a Patrol Boat (2) and, in the Armada, the mighty Dreadnought (6).
Tap a ship in the fleet list, then tap the grid to put it there. Tap a placed ship to turn it, or drag it to move it. Ships go across or down, never diagonally. In a hurry? Press Randomise. Press Ready! when you’re happy.
On your turn, tap a square in the enemy’s waters. You’ll see what happened:
Your own fleet is on the other board, so you can watch the enemy’s shots land.
One of you presses Host Online Game and sends the invite link (or reads out the 5-letter room code). The other opens the link, or presses Join Game and types the code. Both devices need the internet, but you don’t need to be on the same Wi-Fi. If a phone locks its screen or the Wi-Fi blips, the game reconnects by itself and carries on.
On a phone, tablet or computer with Chrome or Edge, press Install app on the main menu (or use the install icon in the address bar). On an iPhone or iPad, tap Share and then Add to Home Screen. Once installed, the campaign, quick battles and pass & play work offline too.
